About Clones Up
Who is Clones Up?
Clones Up is a US-based cannabis genetics provider specializing in verified, female-guaranteed clones. We propagate from proven mother plants and ship rooted, ready-to-grow cuttings to legal cultivators across the country.
Is Clones Up a trustworthy source for genetics?
Yes. Every clone we sell is cut from a verified female mother and screened for health before it ships. We back each order with a live arrival guarantee and US-based support, so you can buy with confidence.
Where are you located?
We operate entirely within the United States. Shipping domestically means faster transit for live plants and none of the customs risk that comes with ordering genetics from overseas.
Genetics & Products
What is a cannabis clone?
A clone is a genetic copy of a single mother plant, grown by rooting a cutting taken from it. Because it carries the same genetics as its mother, it reproduces the same traits, potency, and growth pattern every time, with no phenotype lottery.
What is a teen plant?
A teen is a clone vegetated a few weeks longer than a standard cutting. Teens arrive with a developed root system and more branching, usually 12 to 24 inches tall, which shortens the veg time you need before flipping to flower.
How are clones different from seeds?
Clones are identical copies of a known female mother, so strain and gender are locked in. Seeds vary plant to plant and can come out male, meaning extra time spent sexing and culling. Clones remove that guesswork.
Are your clones guaranteed to be female?
Yes. Since each clone is taken from a proven female mother, it is genetically identical and 100% female, so there is no risk of a male plant pollinating your room the way there is with regular seeds.
What is the difference between photoperiod and autoflower plants?
Photoperiod plants flower when you shift them to a 12-hour-light and 12-hour-dark cycle, while autoflowers switch to flower on their own with age. Our clones are photoperiod, giving you full control over plant size and harvest timing.
Plant Health, Shipping & Guarantees
Do you test for Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd)?
Yes. Our mother stock is tested on a regular schedule for HLVd and other common pathogens, so every clone we ship leaves the facility clean, healthy, and vigorous.
How do you keep clones pest-free?
We run a strict integrated pest management (IPM) program in a clean facility, combining preventative treatments with close inspection before shipping to keep plants free of spider mites, thrips, aphids, and other pests.
How are live plants packaged?
Clones are rooted in moisture-retaining media and secured in a rigid shell that holds humidity and prevents crushing. Larger plants ship in protective boxes, with supplemental lighting added when needed to keep them healthy in transit.
What happens if my plants arrive damaged?
You are covered by our live arrival guarantee. If anything arrives dead or badly damaged, take clear photos and submit a replacement request within 24 hours of delivery. We will replace the affected clones or issue a credit per our policy.
Growing & Care
How should I acclimate new clones?
For the first day or two, keep them in gentle light and high humidity (around 65 to 75%) and skip intense grow lights or direct sun. Ramp light up gradually over three to five days to avoid transplant shock.
How long are clones hardened off before shipping?
We let every clone root fully and harden off for several days before it ships. That toughens the plant and primes the root zone, so it transitions with minimal stress when it reaches you.
When can I move plants outdoors for good?
Wait until frost danger has passed and nighttime lows stay above about 50°F (10°C). For most of the US that is late May into early June. Harden indoor plants off by increasing sun exposure over a week before leaving them out.
What light schedule do plants need indoors?
During veg, run 18 hours of light and 6 of dark. To flip photoperiod plants into flower, switch to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of complete, uninterrupted darkness.
How long does it take to go from clone to harvest?
Plan on roughly three to four months total: about two to four weeks of veg depending on the size you want, plus eight to ten weeks of flower. Exact timing depends on the strain.
What temperature and humidity suit young plants?
Young plants and clones like 75 to 80°F (24 to 27°C) with relative humidity around 60 to 70%. As they mature into flower, bring humidity down to 40 to 50% to discourage mold.
How do I know if a plant is overwatered?
Overwatered plants droop with heavy, downward-curling leaves and yellowing that starts at the bottom. If the medium stays soggy for days, let it dry out fully before watering again.
When should I transplant a clone?
Move it up once you see healthy white roots coming through the plug or pot. Stepping up to a 1-gallon container before a larger pot helps prevent overwatering.
What nutrients should I use?
Use a nitrogen-forward grow formula during veg and switch to a phosphorus- and potassium-heavy bloom formula in flower. Start young clones at about half strength to avoid nutrient burn.
How much light intensity do plants need?
Clones and seedlings want gentle light (about 200 to 300 PPFD), veg plants do well at 400 to 600 PPFD, and flowering plants need 800 to 1000+ PPFD to maximize bud.
Can I grow in direct sunlight?
Yes. Cannabis loves full sun, but indoor clones have to be eased into it. Start with a few hours of morning sun and build up over several days so they do not burn before going out full time.
